Default Skill Points

Do you get enough skill points on the way to 20 to buy all of your skills?

Skill points and attribute points are two different things. He is talking about skill points and not attribute points.

You still level up after 20, but instead of leveling, you just get skill points.

according to the GW site

The bottom line is that you could have a primary character who has experimented with all five available secondary professions. That character will likely have good stock of skills in each of those lines. In fact, that character could have every skill in each of the five available secondaries. The character then, in ways not yet to be revealed, will be able to shift to a different secondary and take advantage of a long history of roleplaying character development.

and from Gaile Gray

Oh, and lastly, heres an additional bit of good news about skills: The majority of skills will be available as quest rewards. This does not mean to say that they will be available only as such a reward, of course; you will still be able to get skills in other ways. But if you go on a quest, you may receive a skill as your reward.

the skill is the reward for the quest

That's why it's suggested that you get all the skills possible from pre-searing; no points wasted on what you can get for free.

you need a skill pont and some gold for a skill
or get it as a quest reward
or i think the signet of capture is still in the game(SoC costs a skill point and a bit of gold)

I don't know if I am understanding you correctly because I went to all the other trainers and did quests before settling on my secondary (Monk) but each time I changed trainers and took their quest they REPLACED my previous skills with their own so I did not retain them.

What Loviatatar mentioned, cannot be accomplished until you are level 20 and can actually change secondary professions. The skills you get for a temporary trial of a secondary profession in pre-searing, are not retained unless you choose that profession.

To buy a skill, you must find a skill vender and then pay him a certain amount of gold and 1 skill point. The exact price depends on how many skills you have bought so far. If it is your first skill, it will only cost you 10 gold. Second skill? 20 gold. Third skill? 30 gold. The more you buy, the more expensive they get.

You can also get skills by completing certain quests. But we haven't seen this implimented yet. It was mentioned earlier.

So my Ranger/monk could conceivably buy a Necro or a Warrior skill?
